Southampton Healthy Living are pleased to be working with Southampton parkrun to encourage people who live in Southampton to get fitter, healthier and most of all, more active on a regular basis.
Southampton parkrun is a 5 kilometer (5k) timed run on Southampton Common. The parkrun is timed so that you can measure your progress each week, it’s not a race. You can go at your own pace including some walking and jogging if you’ve never run before or are returning to running. Everyone is made to feel welcome, you can run with a buggy and dogs are allowed on a short lead, so an activity for all the family to join in!
The great thing about parkrun is it is totally free but you need to register before your first time. You will get a barcode to print and bring with you. This will record your time and enable you to see the great progress you are making!

Every week there is the opportunity to grab a post parkrun coffee at the Hawthorns Centre cafe – you are welcome to join them and widen your circle of active buddies!

There is also a Southampton junior parkrun. It is a 2km run for juniors only (4-14 year olds). Parents/Carers do assist children where necessary and give support. It is held every Sunday at 9am. The event takes place in Riverside Park, Woodmill Lane, Bitterne Park, Southampton, SO18 2JJ.
